Liane Hansen’s career in public radio career began in 1975 at WSGK FM, Binghamton, New York where she was the co-host of the morning news program, For Your Information. In 1979 she was hired as a production assistant for NPRs All Things Considered and in 1980 became the cohost of Weekend All Things Considered. In 1989 Liane succeeded Susan Stamberg as host of Weekend Edition Sunday where she stayed until her retirement to Bethany Beach in 2011. She now serves as a founding board member of WDDE-FM and performs with the Clear Space Theatre Company, Possum Point Players, Bart Area Repertory Company and Ovation Dinner Theater.

His work has touched thousands of Delawareans.

In 1991 she changed Delaware's laws to allow for farm wineries and opened Nassau Valley Vineyards with her father in 1993. In 2007 she was named Delaware Travel and Tourism Person of the Year, and was awarded Southern Delaware Tourism's Person of the Year in 2012. She is also a jazz vocalist and jazz educator.
